OPHTHALMOLOGICAL PATHOLOGIES

Neuro-ophthalmology

Various neuro-ophthalmological pathologies are common in people with trisomy 21, such as strabismus, nystagmus, amblyopia and cerebral visual impairment. Early detection and management of these pathologies are important to improve the visual impairment often associated with Down’s syndrome.

Dr. Hervé Walti, a pediatrician at the Institut Jérôme Lejeune, talks about this in the video and accompanying fact sheet. To read the full chapter, click on the links on the right of the page.
